The Rainmaker

Rudy helps her to sign the documents to divorce, but one night, Kelly risks to be killed by her husband. All students enter law school with a certain amount of idealism and desire to serve the public, but after three years of brutal competition we care for nothing but the right job with the right firm where we can make partner in seven years and earn big bucks.

We get a scratchy taste of the less than glamorous job market search for non-elite students as Rudy is smart, but middle of the pack. Ultimately, there is no payout for the grieving parents and no fee for Rudy, although Dot Black was never concerned with the settlement money, because for her helping to put the company out of business is an even greater victory.

Opinion on Rainmaker It is not hard to follow, but perhaps it is unnecessarily too long. But, it is too costly to transplant the bone marrow. So, she gets discharged from all the charges.

Very little had to be cut from the movie and Coppola did a great job of translating the tone of the story.

The trial of the case goes on. It is not that it spoils it, but we could expect more, and it has made me lower the valuation a little.

Kelly Riker takes the blame for the murder of her husband upon herself to save Rudy from all charges. This novel is, according to us, one of the best written by John Grisham. Grisham, in fact, has worked as a lawyer. While not heavy on scholarly nuance, it has some depth and is crisp, right-hearted, expertly paced and reads like ice-cold lemonade on the porch in summertime.

The insurance company denies paying the money for his transplant where Donny Ray has his health-insurance, using the concept of insurance carrier Great Benefit. To support the costs of the therapy, Mrs and Mrs. Rudy has a case of insurance bad faith which could be worth several million dollars in damages.

There is a well done blooming romance between Rudy and an abused wife and some comic relief involving a nettlesome grandma out to re-write her will to cut off her ungrateful kin. The case goes to trial and Rudy uncovers a scheme Great Benefit ran throughout to deny every insurance claim submitted, regardless of validity.
